The three-time world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales is in the final stage of training for his upcoming fight against former world champion Jorge “La Hiena” Barrios in the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico on Saturday but it was just to good to be true. Rumor is Jorge Barrios will have to pull out from the fight because the hearing judge who is overseeing Barrios murder case has denied permission to travel from Argentina to Mexico.

Unable to leave the country only means you’re going to be sentence. As we reported earlier this year, Barrios is currently on a trial for aggravated homicide after he crashed his BMW and killed a 20-year-old pregnant woman. There is no word if a replacement or if the whole card will be canceled. Stay tune as we get more information.

  1. @Tijuanaboxing I am starting to think Cortez needs to retired. I got some exclusive stuff coming up..

MyBoxingFans was with Erik Morales TODAY and got an exclusive Interview with El Terrible. I am currently editing the video and should have it ready shortly.

Morales talked about his new foe and more stuff.

  2. I’m going to this fight, sucks big time, I’m not sure if Barrios was prepare or ready for the fight, but they shouldn’t have schedule this fight with him if he was on trial or soon to be, or didn’t had permission to leave his country.

Anyway, there is a replacement fighter already, his name is Francisco “El Ahogado” Lorezo from the Dominican Republic.
Francisco Lorenzo fought Humberto “La Sorrita” Soto twice, Soto won the second fight by UD, but HEY EDGAR! Listen to this:
Not sure of you remember the first fight, but Soto got disqualified by none other than referee Joe Cortez. Not only that, but Cortez disqualified Sorrita for lading a glancing elbow to Francisco’s head, who went down without being hit, Cortez stopped the fight, took forever and then he disqualified Sotto despite the replays showing the elbow barely touch the head, all of this after Francisco had gone down and Sotto was trying to finish the fight and he really should have stopped it to rule it a KO win for Soto…

Last Saturday Cortez took a point away from Maidana for barely landing an elbow on Joe him self lol.
