Rising undefeated junior middleweight prospect Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan (28-0 17 KOs) has enlisted the services of Standing Eight Management to guide his boxing career. The management company is lead by boxing manager Steven Feder who is delighted to have the Glendale, California, based fighter in his stable, “we got to know one another first as friends at Wild Card. Managing his future is a welcomed responsibility.”

Martirosyan has been calling for big fights and Feder is on the same page as his young Armenian fighter, “Vanes is ready to step up his level of competition. He is exactly what you want in a fighter. He is fearless, confident and willing to do what it takes to be the best. We are looking for a fight of substance, the tune ups are behind us.”

Martirosyan began his career under the guidance of renown manager Shelly Finkel. When Finkel got out of the management business, his unbeaten prospect listened to offers from several potential managers and patiently waited for the perfect fit.

“I’m very happy with the signing. I know that he can take me to the next level and will get me the fights I need. I can’t wait to start getting ready for my next fight. This will help me focus on my boxing more and leave the business side to Steve,” said an elated Martirosyan.

Standing Eight’s plan is starting to take form. Exact details can’t be divulged just yet but Team Martirosyan has big plans for 2011.

“Vanes is at a place in his career, undefeated in 28 fights, that he’s ready for a fight which will define him and place him among a select group of elite fighters at any weight,” Feder shared.

For Martirosyan, the only thing missing in his career was a top flight manager to put everything together and secure the big fights that Team Martirosyan has been craving.

“With the greatest trainer in the world in Freddie Roach, his strength and conditioning done by Alex Ariza and a promoter like Bob Arum, he has everything he needs to become a world champion. The rest is up to Vanes,” Feder added.

After meeting at Roach’s Wild Card gym, it became apparent Feder’s management style would be perfect for Martirosyan, “I’m a hands-on manager. In the gym, in the corner and in their lives when needed. If my guys are willing to sweat it out then I figure I can too but with Roach there’s not much for me to do except to listen and learn.”

Martirosyan and Feder share the same goal. That goal simply is for Martirosyan to be the best he can be which will be more than enough to lead to world championships, “my goal is when boxing fans are sitting in a bar anywhere and they talk about their list of great junior middleweights, Vanes will be on it.”

Martirosyan joins Standing Eight’s family which includes newly crowned NABO and NABF cruiser champion Lateef “POWER” Kayode, undefeated light welterweight Dean “Irish Lightning” Byrne, light welter Jamie “The Nuisance” Kavanagh and current NABA Super middleweight Champion Kingsley “Sharpe Knuckles” Ikeke.
