Marco Antonio Barrera also known as “The Baby Faced Assassin” is coming back to the ring after a 15-month lay-off as takes on Adailton De Jesus on Saturday, June 26 at the. Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas in the co-main event of “Latin Fury 15” a pay-per-view card presented by Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions.

Julio César Chávez Jr (40-0-1, 30 kos) will take on Ireland’s John Duddy (29-1, 18 kos) in the main event.

The 36 year old Barrera is training in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, the city where he has lived the last six years after moving from Mexico City where he was born and raised.

The three-time world champion is still recognized in the boxing world but it seems people have forgotten about him. You don’t hear much about him anymore. Barrera’s last fight was in March of 2009 in England against Amir Khan where he lost a technical decision after a cut stopped the contest in the fourth round.

Just like his arch nemesis, Erik Morales, Barrera is trying to secure the elusive fourth world title before officially calling it quits.

Você estará em uma luta muito dura. Barrera diz que teve um bom campo de treinamento. Eu não concordo com ele lutar novamente embora. Ele tinha uma grande carreira. Boa sorte para vocês dois

  2. it’s a big joke for barrera for a comeback fight. I’m not sure if he needs the title or he’ll just fight for the money. If I were him, I rather choose to be with my family and look for another way of life instead of thinking about boxing and fighting with other younger fighters. He’s time is up! No doubt for that.

  4. The only reason Barrera is coming back to boxing is because Erik Morales came back, It was really funny to watch the ESPN Deportes boxing show with Barrera when Morales was there after his comeback fight, I knew Barrera was going to comeback.

They will do a 4th fight, that’s for sure, unless they get injured, Erik hand is not doing very good already.

  5. Being a boxing fan, I love watching my Mexican fighters. There comes a time when you have to be realistic though. I’ve said it before and I will say it again. You can not be a part time fighter. You are either dedicated to the sport or you are not. Right now, Barrera has a show on ESPN Deportes and has had it for a couple of years. It’s a fine show. I like it. Good career move. Not all fighters get a chance at a successful life after boxing. It makes you wonder how much he has left or if he even has the heart of a fighter though. I would love to see the Barrera that fought Kennedy McKinney or Naseem Hamed. Good luck to him and I hope his boxing career doesn’t end on the same note as Joe Louis or Muhammad Ali.

  6. Nope not excited….not really excited about JCCjr fight either…barrera is done, and Jr just isn’t that good……
