Three-time world champion Danny Green from Australia will defend for his IBO world title against former two-time light heavyweight champion Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver. Today, Green and Tarver attended a weight in. A beefed-up Danny Green came in at 199.7 while Tarver at 196.7. They will meet July 20 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Australia.
Tarver is the biggest name opponent Green has fought since facing Jones in December 2009. Green effectively wasted the first half of 2010, racking up quick victories over Manny Siaca and Paul Briggs. Tarver is best known for being the first man to legitimately beat Roy Jones Junior when he knocked him out in the second round of their second fight in May, 2004.
