It’s no question Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a baller and is not afraid to flash his money everywhere he goes. This weekend, Floyd Mayweather was in Las Vegas playing a bit of blackjack. If you’re a multimillionaire like Mayweather, you will play 5 hands of $10,000 a piece at a time. Let me remind you a hand of black jack lasts about a minute or two. You do the math $50,000 x 60 mins = Floyd Mayweather.
Earlier this week, It was announced by Mayweather himself during an interview (see video), that he is planning on taking a few years off from boxing. As we all know, Mayweather likes to talk a lot so it’s hard to determine if this is a publicity stunt or not.
Top Rank’s head Bob Arum thinks it could be both.
“I’m used to Floyd saying a lot of things like that. Floyd says a lot of things and I choose to believe differently,” Arum told Michael Marley of The Examiner.
The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, which could earn them $40 million each, almost took place last March until Mayweather sought a blood testing procedure which Pacquiao did not agree with. Floyd Mayweather Sr. has been stating over and over “my son will never fight Manny Pacquiao,” or the earlier quote “If it were me, I would tell my son not to take this fight (against Manny Pacquiao)”.
So it has been stated from the beginning, Floyd Mayweather Jr has never had any intention to face Pacquiao. It seems Mayweather’s precious “O” is more valuable to him considering he is leaving $40 million on the table.
It could have been just spur of the moment Mayweather saying he was taking a year or two years off. I’m sure if it is true, he will make that statement in the proper way which is to put out a press release.
I think if Floyd Mayweather Jr. retires or picks another fight i think it would be because he’s simply running scared of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, he knows he would fall within 10rds or get really punished or dominated for 12rds, he wouldn’t last if does fight again he gonna fight agaist a smaller or a past his prime opponent.
I think, Floydie is busy preparing for his wedding…..to his next beautiful HUMAN PUNCHING BAG.
To him, he doesn’t care if the punching bag is a real punching bag or the mother of his children.They look the same.
If he doesn’t even want to fight top champions for millions of dollars you think he will fight someone from the street? what is this, a remake of Rocky 1?
Yeah He has work hard not to loose that 0 on his record, by ducking top fighters, coming up with dumb excuses with absolutely no real evidence.
The only true Champ I give him credit of fighting is Shane Mosley, and he almost go KO, and maybe Zab Judah.
If he is a true baller, if he is the real deal, tell him to come out of hiding (or retirement) or what ever he calls it, be a man and fight top opponents, he is the boxer here, he is the entertainer, starting with Pacquiao, when he beats them, even if he loses or 2 fights, but fights the best then he can call him self a true champion, when he beats Pacquiao, Martinez, Williams, Berto, Bradley, true fighters that can go up and down on the scales to put on a great fight, then he can call him self the greatest of all time and that 0 on his record means jack squat!
And all that cussing doesn’t really make you have a point, but I guess thats how Floyd’s fans talk, since there is no much to talk about…

Mayweather retired because he knows Pacquiao would accept his demands. But it doesn’t matter. Even if they fight 2 years from now the result would still be the same. Mayweather’s bloody face kissing the canvass while pissing his trunks.

I think everyone misses an important point. Mayweather DOES NOT have to fight Pacquiao even though it’s one of the most important fights of this era. Roy Jones did not have to fight Dariusz Michalczewski even though the world wanted the fight. The Klitschko’s don’t have to fight each other even though it’s the only heavyweight fight that makes sense. I’m not defending Mayweather. He is indifferent to me.
