One year after completing an 11-year prison sentence for robbing a Bank of America in Atlanta, former WBA welterweight champion James Page has been accused of robbing eight more banks within 3 months in his native San Francisco Bay Area.

He was once known as “Mighty Quinn,” a world welterweight boxing champion whose hard left hook propelled him from his native Pittsburg to the biggest of stages. Now his known as the “Button-Down Bandit” for his preference of wearing collared long-sleeve shirts during the robberies.

FBI arrested Page on Monday in Oakland and is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility in Martinez, California.

Page returned to the ring last November at the age of 41, but was knocked out in two rounds by journeyman Rahman Yusubov.

Page rose to prominence in the 1990s, attracting attention from promoter Don King and knocking out Russian Andrei Pestriaev in two rounds in Paris to win the World Boxing Association title.

James Page successfully defended the belt three times before being stripped of his title after he failed to appear at a mandatory fight in November 2000. In Dec. 2001, he was arrested in the robbery of a bank in Atlanta and later sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.
