In his first world title defense, unbeaten WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel López (23-0, 21KOs) needed just 47 seconds to annihilate César Figueroa (30-7-2, 22KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. A left-right combination leveled Figueroa for the count.

Former four-time world title challenger Jose “Carita” Lopez (38-7-2, 32 KOs) knocked out Jonathan Perez (13-5, 10 KOs) in the eighth round of a super flyweight bout. Lopez dominated the fight and finished Perez with a left hook at the 1:47 mark.Lopez is now expected to get a shot at the WBO interim 115lb belt against Z Gorres later this year.
