Middleweight contender “Ireland’s” John Duddy ((26-1, 17 KOs) will return to the ring on October 10th on Top Rank’s October 10th “Latin Fury 12″ card at the WaMu Theatre at Madison Square Garden. Duddy will face Michi Munoz (21-3, 14 KOs) of Topeka, Kansas. It will be Duddy’s comeback fight following his shock loss to Billy Lyell in April.

The proposed December 5 clash between middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams in Atlantic City is still pending Pavlik’s recovery from an nagging injury to the middle knuckle in his left hand. “The Ghost” must undergo further examinations before a green light is given.

WBA interim super flyweight champion Nonito Domaire has reportedly been released from a hospital in the Philippines after a bout with dengue fever which brought his temperatute to 104 degrees. According to AP, the illness may have come from a mosquito bite.

Gary Shaw Productions has won a WBO purse bid today to promote the bout between WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and interim titlist Lamont Peterson. Shaw bid $575,000 against Top Rank’s bid of $451,000 to secure the event during a proceeding at WBO headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The bout will take place on December 5th and likely land at the Agua Caliente Casino/Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. SHOWTIME will televise.
