According to Eric Gomez, chief matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, his emoployer is the #1 boxing promotional company in the United States and in Latin America. He also added that Top Rank and Don King tries to compete but that Golden Boy has already surpassed them, BoxNoticias.net reported.
Gomez mentioned that Golden Boy promotes more than a dozen fighters including Daniel Ponce de Leon and the newest Mexican sensation, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
Gomez, who in Mexico City for the final press conference for Daniel Ponce de Leon vs. Orlando Cruz title bout this Saturday night, also listed Juan Manuel Marquez, Israel Vazquez and Pablo Cesar Cano as fighters who compete under the Golden Boy Promotions banner.
Gomez of Los Angeles, CA, also stated that Golden Boy boasts with more than 40 fighters from Latin America who are classified as some of the world’s best by the four sanctioning bodies.
