A source close to negotiations between the proposed January 24th super fight between Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley stated that the bout is “about 95% done.” Mosley, who defeated Ricardo Mayorga in September, has already signed on to the fight, while the ball is reportedly now in Margarito’s court.
MyBoxingFans.com was on hand when Shane Mosley responded to the rumors circulating the internet about Antonio Margarito calling Shane Mosley a worthy opponent and stating that Mosley would pee himself once he enters the ring.
“I never hide from anybody and I believe I have fought better fighters in my carrier than Margarito,” said Mosley. “After the Ricardo Mayorga fight, I called him out and I told him if he wants to fight I am right here.”
“I don’t know if Margarito said those words, I think it was Bob Arum, but if Margarito said I would pee my pants, I think he is the one peeing because I am right here, I am just waiting for the green light.”
“I think Margarito needs more from me than I need from him. The ball is in his court.”
Everyone is just waiting on Margarito to sign and it will be a done deal. Rumor has it that the bout might land at the new Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario. Mosley grew up about 10 minutes away in nearby Pomona.
So Margs. turns down the fight with Mosely!!!! What!!!! Isn’t this what Margs was always bitching about? He loses my respect when he does what he complains about others doing to him! Why duck Mosley? For a bigger payday with Cotto in June? Cotto will fight some bum in February and then Margs. Now what does Tony do now? B.S. Tony, take the fight.
