Trash Talker vs Trash Talker, Haye-Chisora

This Saturday, July 14, David Haye and Dereck Chisora will collide in London. I have mixed feelings about this fight. With all the trash talking and being separated by a steel fence with more security guards than Barack Obama, makes this fight a must watch but then I think…. this might be a boring fight.

We all know David Haye loves to talk crap, we witnessed it against Wladimir Kilitschko and what happened when they both stepped in the ring? Haye’s performance was embarrassing. The 31-year-old Haye was not only non-competitive but he was afraid to exchange and blamed his foot for his poor performance.

Then we got another trash talker, Chisora, who swore up and down he was going to kick Vitali Klitschko ass. At the end Chisora took a beating and lost a unanimous decision with scores 118-110, 118-110 and 119-111. I’m glad there was no rematch.

There’s a quote I believe is very true. I got it from the movie American Gangster with Denzel Washington where Frank Lucas tells Huey Lucas:

“You’re too loud, you’re making too much noise. Listen to me; the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.”

It’s very true. I just hope I am wrong and this fight lives up to the hype because the heavyweight division needs excitement. In a bright note, I am glad David Haye and Dereck Chisora promised that the knockout loser of their non-world title fight will donate $31,000 to charity.
