After his lopsided loss to Miguel Cotto earlier this month, Antonio Margarito is now showing his face. Yesterday, Margarito attended a press conference to support female fighter Jackie “Aztec Princess” Nava who is also from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Recently she opened her own boxing gym as a gift for all the city’s children.
Rolling in his new Italian supercar, Lamborghini Gallardo E-Gear Margarito, 33, looks finished though his pride won’t let him retire. It will be difficult to see him in the ring again as it would seem he can’t fight anymore. His surgically repaired right eye will always be the target as it will swell up within the first rounds.
It was just a hassle getting him a license to compete in New York. Bob Arum who has spent over a million dollars in attorneys fees to get Margarito licensed over the 2009 hand-wrap scandal will now be forced to spend more to get him licensed because of the eye. Margarito suffered a badly broken orbital bone which needed surgery to remove a cataract and had an artificial lens placed.
In his last three fights, Margarito has taken beatings from Mosley, Pacquiao and now Cotto. There is just so much punishment one can take. He needed 12 stitches to close the cuts to his right eye after the Cotto fight.
I will rather see Margarito with his dark glasses and Justin Beaver hair happy than him seriously injured.

Damn!!! Mayweather just got 3 months in jail… He needs to turn himself in in January …
Yeah I would say hang em’ up but if he’s gonna keep fighting I’m sure it wont be PPV anymore he’s milked all he can out his career and has gotten a pretty penny out of it. Put him in with Mayorga and retire after, win or lose. I would rather see him retire but if he wants to keep fighting that would probably be the only somewhat lucrative fight out there for him.
He should hang them up …. All he is now is a punching bag with a big target on his right eye…… He’s showed nothing in his last 4 fights…. I like TM , but it’s x 2 retire..
