  1. @JOHNNY BOY Okay, if it is set for 157Lbs then it’s fair to consider that it’s STILL a definite advantage in Chavez Jr’s favor, and rightly so. Like I said, Roach is an EXPERT at winning bouts BEFORE his fighters actually enter the ring. Good for HIS fighters and… BAD for their opponents, plain and simply saying.

Now, how much will this decided advantage for Julio Jr will this turn out to be when it’s all said and done?? Anyone? Will it ULTIMATELY be the DECIDING FACTOR?? If Gomez makes this a somewhat close and very competitive fight despite of the weight situation.. will it be because Alfonso is THAT GOOD?? Or will it be because Chavez Jr isn’t THAT GOOD AT ALL or basically.. THAT BAD?? hmmm…. It surely is something to think about, right?

Oh well, personally I’m not going to ppv this one BUT.. my sons, daughter and son-in-law and his dad are all avid fight fans and probably will be inviting this ol’ man to a “Guest Of Honor” front row seat to catch this event. They always do, fortunately for me!! My sibs, as well as I, grew up in a “boxing orientated” household. My Dad and uncle trained and even managed a couple of fighters years ago. As we sat around the table at dinner time we told to eat and talk later. Topics like the weather, the price of gas nor the Yankees weren’t allowed. The ONLY TOPIC permitted at the dinner table was… BOXING!! And that’s the was it was. hahahaha!!

  2. Before I comment, does anyone know what it the CONTRACTED WEIGHT for the Chavez vs Gomez fight?? I’d rather like to know. I believe it has a bearing in this fight. Will Chavez/Roach “demand” that Alfonso INFLATE up to FULL middleweight to give Chavez Jr ANOTHER advantage on top of the ones that we don’t yet know of?? We ALL know how Freddie opperates and how he does his best to “win” the fights at the bargaining table. He’s shrewd, no doubt. Will the Chavez Camp take advantage of the fact that Alfonso will agree to practically ANYTHING to secure what will likely be his LAST big payday if he loses?? hmmmm… They probably already have, doubt inmy mind. We all know that Alfonso is of the stock that accepts ANY challenge, and this one is no different, especially with the handsome payday at stake.

Oh well, let me know about the contracted weights, if possible. I’d appreciate it and will be waiting. Peace to all!!
