Victor Ortiz will try and become the first fight to beat Floyd Mayweather. As Mayweather has stated “41 have been put in front of me a 41 have lost” and its hard to argue the after the fight tonight that it will be different.

Ortiz is a strong, young fighter and unfortunately that will hurt him in this fight. Ortiz just simply is not on the same level as Mayweather and once he realizes that , Ortiz will be in for a long night. The first few rounds will be interesting but once Mayweather figures Ortiz out, it will be an easy one sided victory for Mayweather. Don’t be surprised if you see a TKO late by Floyd as well.

For the viewers that have watched the HBO 24/7 and Ortiz talk about beating Mayweather feels fake, I know that Ortiz believes that he can beat Mayweather but it sounds hollow and scripted.

And then…

Little compares to a Las Vegas fight weekend. From the ring in the MGM lobby to the weigh-in and all the journalists, celebrities and fighters that are all over the place, Vegas may have hit hard times but fight weekend still is the best in Las Vegas.

Must dos while in Vegas-
1.Hash House A Go Go- some of the best breakfast food you can find. The original on the West Side of town is my favorite but now they also have one at Imperial Palace, and the Plaza downtown.
2. Hotel pool. MGM , the Cosmopolitan, and the Hard Rock are great spots.
3. Fremont street. Downtown may not be what it was back in the day but it’s worth checking out.
4. $20 on black

Overrated-
Clubs- don’t get me wrong, Vegas has the best clubs, but with the lounges, bars and great restaurants around- being packed in a small amount of space or seeing those lines to get in seems a bit much.

10 dollar beers- if your gonna waste that much on a beer at least put the cash on a table and get drink for free…if you see the waitress. Buffets- there are a few that are reasonable but 30 dollars for crappy food is crazy.

As James Allen wrote last month about the “Star Power” card not being as great as everyone makes it sound. He is right. This card is good but losing Matthysse due to an illness and with the dual site (Canelo is at Staples) its underwhelming. Canelo doesn’t deserve to have his own headline fight. Especially the same night as Mayweather Ortiz.

There is chatter that there are $150 and $300 dollar tickets left for the fight. For all the fans that tried to get tickets when they were released back in July should be pissed that you can go to Ticketmaster and get the tickets with ease now.
