CALIFORNIA DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL & AWARD WINNING OSCAR DE LA HOYA ÁNIMO CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES ITS FOURTH GRADUATING CLASS

Ceremony will take place on June 30 at East Los Angeles Community College

It’s been another big year for students at the Oscar de la Hoya Ánimo Charter High School in Los Angeles and on Wednesday, June 30, the school’s fourth graduating class will be honored at East Los Angeles Community College.

Approximately 97% of the senior class will be graduating from the school, which earned a silver medal from U.S. News and World Reports this year (after receiving a gold medal last year) and a second consecutive honor as one of Newsweek’s Best High Schools, with 61% of those graduates have been accepted by four year universities. The remaining three percent of the senior class are expected to finish their studies by the end of the summer, with support plans offering tutoring, summer classes and college/career guidance created for these students.

Steve Barr, the founder of Green Dot Public Schools and Los Angeles District 14 council member Jose Huizar are welcomed as the keynote speakers of the graduation ceremony, which will be emceed by Principal Dr. Harris Luu.

The ceremony begins at 3pm at East Los Angeles Community College, located at 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez. Parking is available on Floral Drive.
