No Wonder Bradley-Alexander Can’t Sell

Like many of you, I patiently waited for the much anticipated fight between Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander but all we got was… a piece of shit fight. Bradley won a unanimous technical decision after the fight was stopped in the 10th round Saturday night at the Silverdome.

It was Bradley’s head-butts that did all the fighting just like his last six opponents have been cut by headbutts. Bradley is such a sloppy fighter with no skills. He blindly rushes you, swinging like a maniac and can’t even land a solid punch. Bradley is well built with an amazing six pack, just looking at him one can only make the assumption he could knock anyone out but the truth is, he’s all looks. Maybe that explains the 11KOs.

Then we got Devon Alexander, I expected Alexander to do what he did which was box but in a desperate way out, Alexander complained about his left eye burning after getting head-butted on the right side, go figure.

I guess needing 4 stitches is more painful that a broken cheek bone (Antonio Margarito). The ringside doctor ruled Alexander couldn’t keep his left eye open and halted the fight at 1:59 of the 10th after an accidental head-butt. The scores were 97-93, 96-95 and 98-93.

This was a very disappointing fight and I am not the only one who says. Though there was a rematch clause in place, HBO isn’t sure they will exercise that option and I am not interested either. The total attendance was 6,247 out of the 9,000 seats available.

  1. what is happening with the world boxing hall of fame? it was supposed to be telling fans about this years awards induction, which was postponed last year

  2. The fight SUCKS! It’s a good thing cause I didn’t spent a penny to watch this in PPV. Thanks for the delayed telecast! 🙂

  4. I was looking forward to this fight because I thought it would be a good match up, but that was a very ugly fight. I think both fighters are over rated to begin with, but this fight was lame as hell. Alexanders pitty-pat punches were not hurting Bradley at all, Bradley landed cleaner and harder punches but didnt look like he was doing much damage himself. Very disappointing fight.

  5. I couldn’t agree more, Edgar. I was really looking forward to this fight but it was one of the most disappointing I can remember. I can only wonder who would even want to fight Bradley knowing that they are going to be butted continuously – maybe Maidana could knock him out before he had a chance to do too much damage?

  6. I expected better out of both of these guys but they made themselves look awful Alexander’s a quitter and wouldn’t let his hands go and Bradley proved he is sloppy and the only thing he can do is land a good headbutt. Was not the fight I was hoping it would be very disappointing.
