Mayweather Ditches Golden Boy for Don King

There have been lots of rumors if the negotiations between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao ever took place. Golden Boy Promotions, who were representing Mayweather, swear there were and then you have Mayweather’s team stating otherwise.

One thing is for certain, Floyd Mayweather moved on and is now working with Don King. Don King was more than happy to confirm that he and “Money May” have been spending some quality time in and around DK’s Manalapan home and Deerfield Beach offices in recent days. Mayweather, who is currently enjoying his vacation in South Florida and in Puerto Rico where he was betting on cockfights, also revealed his meetings with Don King thru his twitter page.

Mayweather posted pictures of him and Don King eating at restaurant in Boca Raton, FL. Don King told Michael Marley from Examiner that he would have no aversion to representing Mayweather across the table from his historic arch-enemy Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter.

Arum has also said publicly that he believes he could work with King.

“Arum and I could work together well, we could work hand-in-glove. We can make things happen. I know that and Bob has said it as well. ”

I am sure Oscar De La Hoya does not like the idea of Floyd talking to Don King, especially if King becomes Mayweather’s main man for his future fights.

“I know what Floyd can do in the ring and he knows what I can do to bring the most money,” King said. “We’re both proven performers. I appreciate that about him and I think he appreciates that about me.”

If Golden Boy couldn’t make the fight happen and Don King can, so be it!

  4. The two biggest conartists in boxing found each other, I’m more surprised that it took this long for those two assclowns to get together. Who Floyds promoter is dosent matter, Who he fights dose. So When these two Maricones are done playing grab-ass, Maybe they can work on getting Floyd in the ring with Pacman.
