In January, Riverside’s Jose Reynoso pushed unbeaten Azusa prospect Aris Ambriz to the limit in a memorable eight round battle that was so close that the judges had no choice but to call it a draw. Nearly five months later, on Friday, June 18th, these two rising stars will meet once again, and this time when they step into the ring at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California, for the main event of Thompson Boxing Promotions’ “New Blood”, they don’t plan on leaving things up to the judges.

Also in action on this action-packed five-bout card will be East LA’s Aaron Martinez, perennial favorite Pavel Miranda, plus a host of Southern California’s top prospects.

Tickets for “NEW BLOOD”, priced at $75, $45, and $30, are available now and may be purchased by calling 714-935-0900.

Azusa, California, prospect Aris Ambriz (13-0-1, 8 KOs) has been a local favorite ever since he stepped into the pro ranks in 2007. Unbeaten in 14 pro fights, the 24-year old Ambriz ran through all his previous opposition until running into Mexican southpaw Jose Reynoso (11-3-1, 1 KO) last January. And while the 25-year old Reynoso has had his ups and downs since turning pro in 2003, his performance against Ambriz showed that he’s ready for the next step in his career.

A native of Mexico City who now makes his home in East Los Angeles, Aaron Martinez (12-1-1, 3 KOs) is always ready for war when the bell rings. Currently riding a four fight winning streak, the 28-year old welterweight will be pushed by Doubletree favorite Pavel Miranda (16-4-1, 8 KOs), who is making his fourth appearance at the hotel on June 18th.

Also featured on “New Blood” will be Moreno Valley welterweight Artemio “King” Reyes (5-1, 5 KOs), who will look for another knockout victory when he takes on Fairfield, CA, Alan Sanchez (5-1, 2 KOs), Sanchez is coming off an impressive knockout victory over then undefeated Nicaraguan Alberto Morales last March. Also returning to the ring will be Rancho Cucamonga’s own Eric Garcia (4-1-1, 1 KO), who competes in a junior middleweight four rounder against Oakland’s Daniel Castillo (2-5-1, 1 KO).

Opening the event is a junior middleweight clash of newcomers pitting Pomona’s Antonio Moya against Long Beach’s Cleveland Ishe.

Bouts subject to change. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the first bell rings at 7:45pm. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 222 North Vineyard Avenue in Ontario. The hotel phone number is 909-937-0900.
