The current WBC lightweight champion, Edwin Valero, participated last Sunday in a foot race which was organized by a local Venezuelan newspaper and UNICEF in Caracas, Venezuela. Valero finished in the top ten although the distance of the race was not reported. His time was 25 minutes with 14 seconds and he finished first in the open catergory in which he participated in. Valero is scheduled to defend his title against Tijuana, MX’s Hector Velazquez on December 19th at the Jose Maria Vargas Sports Complex in Caracas.

In his preparation for his fight with Cotto, only the Pacman the dog could withstand the up and down hill morning runs of the Pacman in Baguio City Philippines. [Baguio City is a Philippine city located at a very high altitude].
The same when the Pacman extended his fast jogging pace at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in downtown Manila. Nobody among his buddies could outlast or outrun him. Only the Pacman the dog stayed with him all throughout the jogging run of Manny.
I wish some enterprising entities could someday sponsor a special marathon for some noble purposes -say, for the benefit of the Red Cross, typhoon victims, etc, may be – among Edwin Valero, Mayweather Jr. and the Pacman, etc. Am sure, it would be a great great spectacle to see them run against each for a very noble purpose.
