While the world is celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden, boxing fans are waiting patiently to celebrate another victory Saturday night when Manny Pacquiao takes on Shane Mosley from the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.

Victory will be celebrated by those who favored Pacquiao to win. This is my prediction. I understand Shane Mosley is bigger, even at 39 years-old he still got some power but he is not the fighter he once was. We can’t predict what will actually happen Saturday in Las Vegas but a review of several key fights in Shane Mosley’s career may lean you towards Manny Pacquiao.

During Mosley’s fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mosley came out swinging for the first two rounds and was able to rock Mayweather but desperately lost full control of the situation and all the fuel he had left in him. Looking tired and huffing for air, Floyd turned the tide and took control of the fight wining a unanimous decision.

Mosley’s fight against Sergio Mora was a complete dud and an embarrassment for the sport. While the Fight Camp 360 continues to show highlights of Mosley’s win over Antonio Margarito, I still believe he won only because Margarito wasn’t focused. The fact he was caught with illegal hand wrap did not help Margarito.

This past weekend Pacquiao was in Los Angeles promoting his new cologne, “MP8 Scent of The Champion” and though Pacquiao has a million things going at the same time, I still think he will retire Mosley.

Manny Pacquiao is to fast and to strong and looking at his previous fights, it never fails. Pacquiao continues to look better every time. He has won 13 consecutive fights against some of today’s biggest names. I say Pacquiao will win by a one-sided decision or Naazim Richardson, Mosley’s trainer, throwing in the towel.

What’s your prediction?

  1. I can see it going to the judges as well, Manny doesn’t have any intention of knocking Mosley out. That can prove dangerous for him as Mosley has power and Pacquiao does exchange and it’s no secret Mosley’s only chance is to knock Manny out early. Realistically though Mosley will gas between fourth or sixth round and I see Pacquiao dominating to a UD carrying Mosley through the 9th round up even when he has chances to finish him. They can mention Mosley was an underdog against Margarito all they want but Margarito does not have no where near the hand-speed or footwork Manny has not to mention the angles Manny throws his punches at. Great hype job for the casual fans out there but Mosley is finished. He gassed way to early against Mayweather and his fight with Mora was just plain lousy I mean Vera beat Mora and Vera is as one dimensional as it gets and no doubt Mosley had more tools at his disposal than Vera just goes to show how finished he is.

  2. As the saying goes, styles make fights. It doesn’t supreise me that Mosely is being counted out before he even gets in the ring. In boxing we have what is called, “you’re as good as your last fight”. That carries over to your next fight. It is fair to say that Mosely needs to step it up and throw combinations compared to the Mora fight. I see this fight going to the judges though.
