Joan Guzman has admitted of using diuretic Furosemide, a banned substance during his last fight against Jason Davis in December. He was fined 25 percent of his $15,000 purse ($3,750) and suspended for eight months from the date of the fight. Golden Boy Promotions has also dropped him and no longer contracted by Golden Boy.

At the weigh-in the day before the fight, Guzman scaled 144 pounds for a fight that had been contracted at 141. Guzman said he used the banned substance to lose weight. The result of the welterweight bout, which Guzman initially won via second-round knockout, was changed to a no contest. Guzman has had a history of trouble making weight for his fights and now his known for being a freaking looser.

  3. I think they should start taking 50% percent and extend suspensions when boxers are caught cheating like this to make the cheaters think twice before they do what they do.
