Can Kelly Pavlik bounce back from his bloody loss to Sergio Martinez with the same trainer but a better diet? Pavlik says he can. Former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik’s comeback starts with Brian Vera (17-5, 11 KOs) on the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito card on Nov. 13.

In a recent interview, Pavlik says it was difficult making 160 pounds and that is why he didn’t have energy against Martinez. Pavlik said he had to lose nearly 40 pounds during training camp for the Martinez fight and was about 10 pounds over the middleweight limit two days before the weigh-in which stopped him from eating or even hydrating properly.

On November 13th, the kid from Youngstown, Ohio, won’t have to worry much about his weight as it will be at a catch weight of 164 pounds. Pavlik is confident he will be victorious on Nov 13th, that is why he’s already eyeing his next opponent.

Pavlik mentioned the possibility of meeting the winner of the Martinez-Paul Williams middleweight championship fight on Nov. 20th. There were also talks about a possible showdown against titleholder Lucian Bute in March 2011 with possible venues in New York and Atlantic City, NJ, mentioned.

Before Pavlik starts eyeballing anyone, he needs to first win a sensational fashion against Brian Vera.
