back in September of last year which was a rematch of their first draw three months earlier.

The 28-year-old Garcia strapped on the gloves at an earlier age and ventured on an illustrious amateur career with over 150 fights and in which he amassed two national Golden Gloves titles, a silver medal at the Pan-Am games and was chosen twice as an Olympic boxing team alternate. Garcia turned pro in 2004 under the Golden Boy Promotions banner and rattled off seven straigh wins before suffering his only loss back in ’06. Since then, Garcia has fought sporadically because of a lack of promotional support but still managed to string two wins along with the two draws against Hernandez which he was trained for by Joel Diaz, brother of multi-time champion Julio Diaz and trainer of current WBO jr. welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley.

The experienced Garcia, not one to skirt away from a tough fight, is rumored to be next up to face Golden Boy Promotions fighter Charles Huerta (14-1, 8KOs) in a proposed six round bout to be televised on “Solo Boxeo Tecate” on spanish language Telefutura to be held at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA.
