Yesterday, Antonio Margarito and Roberto Garcia met up in Aguascalientes, Mexico, to officially announce their May 8th fight which headlines Top Rank’s PPV Latin Fury 14.

The 10-round junior middleweight bout will take place at the Plaza de Toros Monumental in Aguascalientes, MX. This fight will mark the return of Margarito to the ring for the first time since January 2009 when he lost to Shane Mosley.

“This is the kind of opportunity I have been looking since I turned pro and without a doubt is the most important fight of my career,” said Garcia.

“I could not have picked a better place to return than Aguascalientes. I know that this fair is one on the most important events in Mexico and look forward to giving the fans a very memorable fight,” said Margarito who was there with new trainer Robert Garcia, his wife and his manager Francisco Espinosa.

The pay-per-view undercard will feature World Boxing Association (WBA) interim super featherweight champion Jorge Solis (38-2-2), of Guadalajara, Mexico, defending his title against top-10 contender and one-time world title challenger Mario Santiago (21-2-1, 14 KOs), of Ponce, Puerto Rico; undefeated NABF lightweight champion and top-five contender Brandon Rios (24-0-1, 17 KOs), of Oxnard, Calif., defends his title against former interim world champion and fellow top-five contender Urbano Antillion (27-1, 20 KOs), of Maywood, Calif., and the pay-per-view debut of flyweight sensation Alfonso López (3-0, 2 KOs), of Mexico City, Mexico, the son of legendary world champion and Mexican icon Ricardo López.
