Marquez Begins Training!
The former bantamweight and super bantamweight champion Rafael Marquez began his training in Ixtapalapa, MX, for his May 22nd fourth match up against Israel Vazquez in Los Angeles, CA.
Marquez will now be trained by former world champion Daniel Zaragoza.
Marquez shadowboxed and did some mitt work with Zaragoza in front of the amassed media on the first day of his training.
Montiel Bout in Japan Confirmed for April 30th!
Recently, Zanfer Promotions received a note from the land of the rising sun, Japan, which stated that all is ready for WBO bantamweight champion Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel to challenge the WBC champion Hozumi Hasegawa on April 30th at the Budokan stadium in Tokyo.
Hasegawa stated that he would like to face Montiel in Japan and has no intention of traveling to America to face the Los Mochis native.
Montiel is coming off a successful defense of his title against over matched Filipino Narciso Morales in Las Vegas, NV.
