For Antonio Margarito the win he earned on July 26th, 2008 over Miguel Cotto has not been as savory as it should. All the controversy that has accumulated from Margarito being caught with illegal substances in his hand wraps before his bout with “Sugar” Shane Mosley earlier this year has sullied his reputation and the “Tijuana Tornado” stated as much in Las Vegas, NV, last Saturday night.
“Yes, it does put a stain on my career but I have given my arguements,” Margarito said. “All those who say that I used plaster against Cotto and that Cotto shouldn’t of have lost then, did I put plaster on my face and my jaw so that I wouldn’t feel his punches? I think it is a matter of styles and when we fight again, I will win again.”
“We are ready to give him the rematch whenever he wants it, I think the Mexican and Puerto Rican people would like to see it,” he concluded.
we all agree cotto needs a better trainer Emmauel stuart would be great Even roach is good. He needs to beat margarito like shane did, be aggresive and break his bitch ass down.
Cotto had a great bum for a trainer. He should get Freddie Roach or the likes of Freddie if he wants to win in his next fight.
I think Cotto should not give up boxing so soon, he should hire him a better corner man in the likes of Freddie Roach. He has potential, he’s got the sting in his punches and for sure, he has the heart of a champ.
I think personal Cotto should take that rematch even though Margarito did use the plaster,, which i think he did,, but before Cotto takes this rematch,, he needs too change corners,, his train Joe has too go,, he doesn’t know anything about the sport,, i persoanlly would’ve done a way better job training Cotto for the pac-man fight,, Joe had the wrong game plan,, and if Cotto takes the rematch,, i just hopes he changes trainers,, Joe is not the guy too take Cotto to the top,,
I think that if he gets his license back this fight will happen, I think right now there is a lot of people who want to see Margarito down, specially the Puerto Ricans, there is still lots of money they can make put of Margarito, that is why they are pushing for the license and with the right amount of money I think Cotto will take it.
Cotto has expressed his intention to keep on fighting and I think at the end there would be nothing better for him than to avenge the lost that started his downfall. Both fighters will have a hard time getting good opponents.
Or maybe we will never see this because maybe Margarito will not get his license back, who knows, well see what happens next year.
Now I also hear some are saying Pacquiao is on steroids because of his KOs, come on! everybody has a reason why their fighter loses, crazy.
