The Founder, Owner and Chairman of Las Vegas based Top Rank, Inc., Bob Arum told Boxing Scene via telephone that negotiations for a fight between middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and former welterweight and current interim junior middleweight champion Paul Williams is in the works which would probably take place in Atlantic City on October 3.

“I think we’re getting very close,” Arum said.  “We’re not there, but we’re getting close. We are not wide apart like we were a week ago.”

The rumor continues that Dan Goossen and Paul Williams will get $1.75Million to fight the Ghost from Youngstown, Ohio.

What’s your opinion? Should this showdown between Kelly Pavlik vs. Paul Williams be a good fight?

  1. Hey Edgar….I think you might have talked too a friend of mine by the name of George… He’s a writer here in Canada , he’s a good guy. he might have good connection with sposcership, I’ll get back to you on that one.

  2. I would love too see this fight. Paul Williams is the real deal.
He young and hungry and has a lot of determination……

The only thing I see lacking on him is his Power witch he can get away with because of the amount of punches he throws per round, a real work horse of a fighter.

I like Kelly Pavlik as well, very technically sound. He does everything correct he sticks too the basic fundamentals and always keeps his hand up and delivers very well combination. he had a bad break with Bernard Hopkins who unfortunately took Pavlik too school. He sat him down in the class room and gave poor Pavlik a whipping…..LOL.
So his confident might be the real factor here but the question is will it ever come back, or has he really seen ghost this time…We just don’t know still a big mystery for him.

If this fight where too happen I have Paul Williams all the way.
because of his speed and angles that he will demonstrates, Pavlik will be too confuse just like what Winky Wright went through with him.

Now I see why some fighters are avoiding this young man, he like a party crasher in 3 different weight classes…LOL….
who can’t seem to just make up his mind as yet too where he is going too settle down in, but we can’t blame him.

    This man is going places
