According to Ernesto Castellanos of Esto.com.mx, former super bantamweight world champion Daniel Ponce De Leon’s team is in talks with Rafael Marquez for a potential showdown. The fight will be for either a world super bantamweight title or an elimination bout.
After losing his title to Puerto Rican wunderkind Juan Manuel Lopez last year, Ponce De Leon climbed in between the ropes most recently against David Marchiano whom he KO’ed in his most recent bout in Chihuahua. Now he has his eyes set on the ex two divisional champion Marquez.
Ponce De Leon will fight next on March 14th against an opponent to be determined and after he will be ready for a major fight.
