NEW tickets released for star-studded event

ticketsThe boxing community has come out in full force to help one of their own, a champion full of grace, dignity and pure class–Genaro Hernandez. “Chicanito” is currently battling his biggest foe ever–a rare and aggressive form of cancer that the fighter was diagnosed with just three months ago.

On Saturday night, The World Boxing Council (WBC) Legends of Boxing Museum will be hosting a star-studded benefit dinner that will include live entertainment, a silent and live auction, celebrity guests, and many other surprises that are in store for the crowd. The event is taking place at the Museum and Fox Theater located on the grounds of the American Sports University in San Bernardino, California.

The WBC LBM’s Board of Directors have formed a ready-and-able “Team Hernandez” while planning this event that is sure to be first-class and memorable. Executive Chairman Rudy Tellez, Co-Chairman Jaime Ochoa, Co-Chairman Vinnie Johnson, Executive V.P. Angel Ochoa, V.P. Eric Casillas, and WBCares’ Jill Diamond are all honored to be hosting this event for the champ.

Due to the overwhelming request for tickets, balcony tickets are now available for the gala. Friends and fans are encouraged to show their support for the beloved boxer and now due to the demand, all can be accommodated with these additional tickets. “We want to thank everyone out there for all the support–it’s been overwhelming. We’ve sold out of tables for the dinner,” says Angel Ochoa, “We are now offering $20 “standing room only” tickets which will be in the balcony area. There’s a cash-and-carry bar available and the crowd on the balcony will still be able to see the stage and take part in the night’s entertainment.”

Eric Casillas, who flew in Friday morning from Chicago adds, “We’ve got a great response to this event honoring ‘Chicanito’ and we’re all looking forward to the evening. There will be cocktails, appetizers, jazz music, great memorabilia and more for the guests.”
“This will be memorable and also historical with these champions,” states Co-Chairman Jaime Ochoa. “I’m looking forward to a night that will be branded in everyone’s minds for the rest of their lives. They’ll never forget this. I expect nothing less than a miracle for ‘Chicanito.’ It’s an honor to be part of this–‘Chicanito’ is loved by everyone world-wide.”

In June, Hernandez (38-2-1, 17 KOs) was an inaugural Hall of Fame inductee at their WBC Legends of Boxing Museum Grand Opening.
Among the fighters and boxing luminaries scheduled to attend are: Samuel Peter, Rocky Juarez,  Israel Vazquez, Chris Arreola, Alfonso Gomez, Paul Banke, Timothy Ray Bradley, Alfredo Angulo, Bobby Chacon, Mando Muñiz, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Sergio Mora, Roberto Garcia, Nestor Rocha, Abdon Lozano, John Montes Jr., Hassan Chitsaz, Floyd Mayweather Sr., Tony Rivera, Jimmy Lennon Jr., Dr. José Sulaiman, Mauricio Sulaiman and many other WBC diplomats and champions planning to attend.
