WBO featherweight champion Steven Luevano from La Puente, California will be facing unbeaten challenger Billy Dib from New Jersey. The bout is the co-feature underneath Pavlik-Hopkins on Saturday at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

Going back to last October, when Luevano out pointed Antonio Davis on the Pacquiao-Barrera II under card, this will be Luevano’s fourth appearance in the past 12 months. On the Pacquiao-Diaz co-feature event Luevano engage in an entertaining back-and-forth fight with Mario Santiago, which was highlighted by both men hitting the deck in the fourth. Luevano says it’s the toughest fight he’s ever engaged in. A rematch seems to be in the works but his manager is making it clear that a rematch with the Puerto Rican must be the main event.

“If HBO or Showtime came to us and said they would want this fight to be a main event fight or HBO said, ‘we’ll make this the opening bout for good money,’ I definitely would consider fighting him again,” said Dunkin. “Steven fought a fight that he’s sorry he fought and I think Steven can fight a lot better than that and I don’t think the other kid can. I think the other kid gave it everything he had and Steven fell into his traps and stuff by not fighting a smart fight. So I’m not afraid of the fight. I’d like to see him get paid and I’d like it to be on a premium network. I really don’t want it hidden on some under card.”

Being only 27 years of age Luevano has inspired a lot of young amateurs, performing on these pay-per-view undercards has allowed Luevano to make a pretty good living.

“He’s making good money; he’s making really good money, actually,” says Dunkin. “He’s fighting about four times a year, and for him, it’s a lot of money. He’s making well over $100,000 per fight and getting close to the $200,000 figure almost every fight. That’s a lot of money and if you fight four times a year, its really good money and then you just wait for something to clear.

I am defiantly looking forward to this fight and I encourage every one to support Steven Luevano.
