Check out the New Exhibit in Vegas

If you love boxing and are in the Las Vegas area, be sure to check out the new Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame Museum inside HeadzUp Vegas located in the Boulevard Mall.

This Friday, September 13, the nonprofit organization will be hosting a special “A Night with Boxing Legends” event featuring Mikey Garcia, Adam Lopez, Adan Ochoa and more (tickets $25). Fight aficionados can take part in a fun Meet & Greet while getting a peek at the rows of boxing memorabilia, mementos, souvenirs and rare finds located in this new interactive exhibit!

I got a chance to see all the fun and historic artifacts displayed in HeadzUP (where visitors can also see 3D photos ops, escape rooms, axe throwing and more experiences) during last month’s festivities with the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame (NVBHOF). Check out the snapshots from my visit to their new space!

On the eve of their annual Hall of Fame induction weekend, NVBHOF Founder/Former President Rich Marotta and CEO/President Michelle Corrales-Lewis welcomed a knockout group of champions, past and new inductees and VIP guests for a private reception at the museum. Guests mingled with the boxing luminaries while enjoying a Southern feast catered by TC’s Rib Crib and owner Sharon Harrell (on a sad note, the beloved restaurateur recently passed away).

But back on August 8, the mood was celebratory as out-of-town visitors caught up with local legends all having a great time at the Hall of Fame gathering where they enjoyed a delicious dinner. It was a wall-to-wall room of fighters and familiar faces in boxing including Vinny Paz, Joel Casamayor, Jessie Vargas, Leon Spinks, Michael Spinks, Humberto “Chiquita” Gonzalez, Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson, Iran Barkley, Lamon Brewster, Al “Ice” Cole, Joe Cortez, Duane Ford and more. During the evening, Marotta and Corrales-Lewis spoke to the crowd and a birthday cake was presented to the Spinks Brothers as well.

The NVBHOF’s Anthony Randolph showed us the latest contributions in their museum exhibit which currently houses lots of cool pieces like fight-worn robes, boxing gloves, artwork, championship belts, glossy photos and more. Museum-goers can also try on a pair of gloves and a robe and enter the ring for photo ops; there’s also boxing equipment on the show floor too.

The team packs a lot of memorabilia into the space they have and Randolph says they have many more items in storage and as they expand, they will continue to add more collectibles for the public to view. They will have additional future events that will help benefit the nonprofit NVBHOF.

And if you’re in the Las Vegas area and you love boxing, this new exhibit is a must-see for you. And don’t miss out on their September 13 fiesta with Mikey Garcia and champs!
