WBC/WBO bantamweight Nonito Donaire (27-1, 18 KOs) scored a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten WBO super flyweight king Omar Narvaez (35-1-2, 19 KOs) on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Donaire easily won every single round in a forgettable first defense that followed his brutal second-round knockout of Fernando Montiel to win a pair of 118-pound belts in February. Narvaez stayed very defensive the entire fight and seemed content to take his first loss. Scores were 120-108 on all three cards.
Donaire said he plans to move up to junior featherweight for his next fight in the first quarter of 2012.
