WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KOs) warmed up for his November showdown with Manny Pacquiao by knocking out Likar Ramos (24-4, 18 KOs) in the first round of a non-title jr welterweight matchup on Saturday night at the Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. An explosive right hand to the chin put Ramos on his back out cold. Time was 1:47.

Former world champion Rafael “Raffa” Marquez (40-6, 36 KOs) battered Eduardo Becerril (12-8-2, 4 KOs) for five rounds and Becerril didn’t come out for round six. Marquez knocked down Becerril with a left hook in round four. Marquez is eyeing a possible challenge against WBC super bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka later this year.

With Marquez safely through his Saturday night tune-up fight Top Rank announced that tickets for Pacquiao-Marquez will go on sale this Friday.
Tickets are priced at $1,200, $900, $600, $400 and $200.

  1. A lot of people think Ramos took a dive. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn’t. All I know is that it looked like the same punch Rico Ramos landed on Shimoda last week. Even if Likar Ramos took a dive, Marquez had nothing to do with it. He could’ve gone a few more rounds though. It took me a while to set up my rabbit ears to watch these fights. LMAO

  2. looks like they paid ramos extra money too make marquez look good just saying lol when he faught floyd it was a joke and im talking about his power in that fight and this guy went down with that come on

  3. Nice punch but questionable on Ramos’ part but who knows how much pop was on the end of that punh. Still doesn’t convince that Marquez has a shot above 140. I will still root for him and keep my fingers crossed hope it’s shown at a bar because I don’t want to blow money this fight unless undercard is gonna be good.
