WBA Super Lightweight World Champion Amir Khan (Left) and IBF Junior Welterweight World Champion Zab Judah (Right) pose on June 8, 2011 in Los Angeles, California at the press conference to announce their July 23, 2011 world title unification fight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada which will be televised live on HBO’s World Championship Boxing.

AMIR KHAN VS. ZAB JUDAH PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

AMIR KHAN, WBA Super Lightweight World Champion

“Zab’s a tricky southpaw who’s won many world titles but I don’t think this is his time. He doesn’t have the hunger that I do. I don’t think he can take the belt I have off of me.”

“We have a game plan for the fight, so I know how to beat Judah and I’m already way ahead of schedule.”

“This is going to be a big fight in the U.S., but it’s also big for my fans in the U.K. and I’m happy for them to come over.”

ZAB JUDAH, IBF Junior Welterweight World Champion

“I’ve beat a guy from Mexico, from Argentina, from Africa and now I will beat a guy from the United Kingdom – just call me the international assassin.”

“I’m ready and focused. It was a long road back to the top, but this is what a champion is made of. When they’re knocked down, they rise back up to the top.”

“Amir’s an assassin with speed and power, but I’ve been where he’s been and he’s going to have to do it in the lights.”

“Amir can deal with a loss right now. It’s ‘Super’ Judah time.”

  1. @boxingisart … I’m no Judah fan. I think he is a low life thug, but when he comes prepared to fight the guy can fight. In his last few fights he went in just to collect a check. Now, he’s fast, can stick and jab, and has decent punching power. Depending which Judah steps in to the ring I do think he can beat a Marco and Amir. Judah has to put a good fight and a win against Amir if he wants fans to continue to watch him. For that reason I do believe he will come well prepared and ready to fight given him a win over Amir.

  2. @c Romeo ,Judah was gifted the fight with Matty who is not as good as Maidana .do you think that Judah can best Maidana !!!

  3. @boxingisart… I never said Amir was not a good fighter, and did mention that he fought against Marcos Maidana. He just not really test, maybe we can consider 2 or 3 of his opponents to be of good quality.
What I said was it should be a good fight and depending which Judah shows up to the ring on that night, I would give the fight to Judah. The ball is in Judah’s court if he shows up to fight he should win the fight. Not going to be an easy fight but a Judah win. How is that being bias when I think that Judah should win?

  4. @c Romero ,I will always respect Khan as a fighter even he loses against Judah just because he is courageous and willing to fight.
You need to pay attention to details which show who is willing to fight and who is a bitch.
The moment Khan ducks a legitimate challenge ,I will be the first one to bash him as a boxer not as a person because I am a boxing fan and perceive boxers as entertainers therefore their life and personality out of the ring are NOT my concern at all .Just show me boxing

  5. @C romero
You must be high bru .Dude ,Khan faught Maidana who Noone in his division wanted to fight .stop being baiesd and give the guy props when because he deserves it .
Bradly is a fucking chicken because he avoided Maidana all this time .At least Khan has fucking balls when he stepped up and faught Maidana .come on man why are you trying to disseminate misinformation and not willing to praise Khan for his great work .
Dude ,I appreciate what Khan is doing in to the sport of boxing because he is calling people out unlike some coward boxers like Bradly .
You do not know shit about boxing bro .WTF ,Khan is not tested champ !!!!!! What about maidana’s fight .
People ask always who Khan is going to fight next because he is a special fighter and people like you always criticize Khan .Perhaps ,you want Khan to fight 5 different opponent at the same night in order for you to be satisfied !!!!why do not you criticize bradly for being a bitch .
I used to make fun of Floyd but since he took the fight with Ortiz I realized that the guy got courage .
My man ,you should give boxers props when they deserve it .Khan is showed variance when
he was trying earnestly to find an opponent to fight unlike other fighter just waiting like chicken shit and making statements that deceive the fans .I mean Bradly when he called out Khan and all the sudden the bitch vanished .
    Be fair bru

  6. I would have rather seen The Ghost in there instead of Judah I think he’d match up quite well with Khan, but this is an interesting fight at least for the first few rounds if judah has trouble landing shots it will be another one of those nights for him but if he can hit Khan early and often with some good shots I smell an upset by K.O.

  7. It should be a good fight, but that depends on which Zab Judah shows up to the ring that night.

I would not say that Amir Khan is really a tested Champ the biggest name on his resume is a very old, punch drunk Barrera, Pauli (no punching power) Malignaggi or maybe Marcos Maidana. Everyone else he has fought are no name, no skilled, no power European fighters (not saying there is no good European fighter out there). If the Judah that fought for the first few rounds against Mayweather shows up, Amir Khan is done. This fight is a toss up. The ball is in Zab’s corner. Still should be a good fight.
