“There is only a couple of details that need to be worked out but it is a done deal that I will face Escobedo,” Morales stated.

After a two and a half year hiatus, Morales made his comeback fight against Nicaragua’s Alfaro at the Monterrey Arena which he won via unanimous decision.

The 28 year old Escobedo has a record of 22 wins with 14 KOs against two defeats. As an amateur, he represented the United States in the 2004 Olympics held in Athens, Greece.

Escobedo has traded leather with the likes of Kevin Kelley, Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez and Michael Katsidis, the current WBO interim lightweight champion.

Morales stated that he will once again train in the Otomi Mountains in Central Mexico for his upcoming bout.
