If you watched the VMAs last week then you know the whole issue with Kanye West. If you do not know what happened, Kanye basically got on stage and took the mic from Taylor Swift and said Beyonce had the best video ever and then walked off.

Here is the actual video of him doing so:

Then obviously everyone was mad that he shouldn’t have taken her glory, agreed. After fielding a 24-hour firestorm of criticism and apologizing on his blog, West told Jay Leno, “It was rude, period….I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt.”

Well this circumstance happened again when Floyd Mayweather Jr. was being interview by HBO’s Max Kellerman after winning a unanimous decision over Juan Manuel Marquez, Kellerman asked Mayweather about the possibility of facing Mosley next, Mosley thrust himself into the discussion. Mosley, along with the equally inappropriate Bernard Hopkins, verbally attacked Mayweather, leaving Mayweather flustered and eventually forcing him to storm out of the ring. This was supposed to be Mayweather’s well-earned moment in the spotlight.

Mosley, and the rest of Golden Boy, should be embarrassed by his behavior. The stunt carried with it the permeating odor of a desperate man. Mosley believed his win over Margarito would propel him to multiple lucrative fights this year. But it hasn’t, and Mosley has failed to secure deals with Pacquiao, Andre Berto or Zab Judah.

With 2009 winding down, Sugar Shane still doesn’t have a fight scheduled (a proposed Dec. 26 date was vetoed by HBO). For an aging fighter on the tail-end of his career, that is unacceptable.

I doubt we will see Shane Mosley on the Jay Leno show but I truly believe he should apologize to Floyd Mayweather Jr. for acting like Kanye West.
