According to a recent article posted this past Tuesday in the Venezuelan daily Meridiano, an individual riding a motorcycle and still not identified attempted to kill with a handgun Yennifer Carolina Viera de Valero, the wife of the newly crowned WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero last Sunday afternoon in Venezuela.
According to the report, the attempt against Mrs. Valero’s life happened in front of their residence.
The report was confirmed by the police sargeant Rigoberto Moreno who stated that the 22 year old Mr.s Valero was admitted to the hospital suffering from a hand gun wound to the left leg. The bullet entered the leg near the thigh and left by the ankle. He also mentioned that Edwin Valero was the one that brought in his wife to the hospital.
