TODAY (August 6) is the last to purchase your tickets to the highly-anticipated 7th Annual Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame (NVBHOF) weekend at the Red Rock Casino!
Don’t miss out on a 2-day extravaganza (August 9 and 10) that will be packed with activities, photo ops, memorable moments and more. I have attended the NVBHOF functions each and every year and trust me, you need to witness all the festivities in person. Founded by Hall of Famer Rich Marotta and helmed by CEO Michelle Corrales-Lewis, the NVBHOF team have held many events through the years. They just opened a brand-new exhibit at the popular HeadzUP Vegas museum.
Also new this year, the nonprofit organization will host its star-studded fiesta at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa for the very first time.
I asked Corrales-Lewis her thoughts on the upcoming awards weekend at this new venue and what she’s looking forward to?
“Being a part of a local brand casino off strip and showing our out of town guests how wonderful Vegas can be as we celebrate boxing and our epic 2019 Induction Class,” she replies.
And it will be an epic induction ceremony with the 16 awardees this year including BERNARD “THE EXECUTIONER” HOPKINS, JUAN MANUEL “DINAMITA” MARQUEZ, RONALD “WINKY” WRIGHT, HUMBERTO “CHIQUITA” GONZALEZ, VINNY “THE PAZMANIAN DEVIL” PAZ, “TERRIBLE” TERRY NORRIS, “SCHOOLBOY” BOBBY CHACON, JOEL “EL CEPILLO” CASAMAYOR, WAYNE “POCKET ROCKET” McCULLOUGH, HASIM “THE ROCK” RAHMAN, LEROY “IRISH” HALEY, FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR., DUANE FORD, DAN GOOSSEN, DR. EDWIN “FLIP” HOMANSKY AND MARC RISMAN.
The weekend will be popping with many opportunities for fans and guests to see their boxing heroes up close. On the schedule is Friday’s Meet & Greet Fan Experience, a VIP Cocktail Party, Saturday’s World Boxing Council (WBC) Green Belt Challenge Amateur Bouts, Red Carpet action, cocktail reception culminating in the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
In attendance will be the living inductees, boxing stars from around the world, special VIP guests and so much more.
The NVBHOF celebrates the legends in the sport and those that contribute to boxing in a positive manner as well. Their fundraisers are used to assist youth and the underserved in the community and beyond. The yearly NVBHOF induction weekend is the main source of donations so be sure to come out and support this honorable cause.
