This is his last shot. His final comeback. Zab Judah (40-6), 33 years of age living in Las Vegas, Nevada is on his final trail of redemption. The man who we love, hate, or love to hate is giving it his last shot. The man who used to sport gold grills and party through the night

has changed hobbies to being a family man and a student of the Bible. How will Zab’s last stand end?

Well, Zab Judah lucked out Saturday night with a split decision win over Argentina’s Lucas Matthyse. Quick feet and movement allowed Zab to win the majority of the early rounds as he sparsely landed on Matthyse. In the 10th, Matthyse’s pressure and power caught up to Zab as he was knocked down and seemed to struggle the remainder of the bout. It was an unexciting performance in general, and unfortunately seen by the 4,000+ in attendance and thousands watching on HBO. By a 1 point margin, Zab walked away with the win, the #2 ranking and a mandatory shot against Kaizer Mabuza for the belt Devon Alexander was recently stripped.

His first fight against Armando Santa Cruz ended in exciting fashion with a 3rd round knockout. Unfortunately, Zab could not perform the same against Matthyse. The win was what was important. Without the win, it was bye-bye Zab. He lives to fight another day.

That day will hopefully be against Kaizer Mabuza (23-6). Zab hopes that he has proven himself as a decent ticket seller and will attract Mabuza to Newark, New Jersey. The last thing Zab wants is a similar performance in Mabuza’s home country of South Africa. Until then we can only imagine and guess on the future of Zab. But as I’ve said, he lives to fight another day.
