The highly anticipated rematch between Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez was expected to be a fight of the year contender, turned out to be a second round icing which would not surprise anyone as knockout of the year. Not only that, but this made Sergio Martinez a serious contender for Fighter of the Year, who earlier stripped Kelly Pavlik of his belts.
A class act and top fighter, Martinez has and is always willing to fight anyone. But who is there for him to fight? A while ago I wrote an article about Martinez’s different options. The several middleweights in Europe pose a good fight. Martinez could move up with 
super middleweight and fight a Lucien Bute or Super-6 winner, but Showtime has other plans for both fighters (and contracts).
Although it is very unlikely Paul Williams would agree to it, and I doubt Martinez considering DiBella fought and won a no rematch clause in the contract, I want to know if who you would like to see Martinez fight, and if you would watch Williams-Martinez III?
Williams-Martinez I was an incredible fight. I thought it was fight of the year. The first round of Williams-Martinez II was also a very entertaining round. Williams was fighting as well as Martinez. Martinez had planned for a Williams mistake, saw it and capitalized in the second round. If Martinez did not take advantage of that mistake, we could have seen some more entertaining rounds. Martinez showed his skill, power, and smarts by putting Williams to sleep. So, would you watch a third battle between the two?

i agree but it would make and interesting fight. canelo is strong and fast. he also goes to fight. martinez will be martinez and go in to win. id rather see that fight than that pacman margarito fight…

I also agree with Bori, except for the part of Canelo fighting Williams. Canelo just finished crawling and just started walking. We can’t ask him to suddenly start running.
I’m sorry man but Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is no match for Martinez now,maybe in a few years but right now it will be Williams vs Martinez II all over again,El canelo will get brutally beaten.

martinez won the first fight and got robbed. he won the second fight by ko and ko of the year at that. williams can continue fighting but has to stick to the 154 division and stay put. martinez is a beast a great all around fighter. but no third fight its not called for. williams need to rematch cintron for that fake win and martinez could fight angulo or even el canelo. i want cotto and margarito rematch. pacman and marquez at 140. thats just my opinion they would be good fights. even a cotto vs margarito and have contron and williams on the undercard…

I’ve been watching Martinez for a few years now, and he always comes to fight, he has an interesting and unorthodox style, but always puts on a good fight, not sure how anyone can not be a fan of Martinez, love to see him fight and a rematch with Williams could be possible, but I do think it could easily end in another KO.
I believe Martinez won the 1st fight, now he won this one with the KO of the year, the next one could turn ugly for Williams.
Williams might not want anything to do with Sergio Martinez anymore.
Now to think that both guys fought Margarito, if Margarito wants to keep on fighting (I think he should retire and save his health), there are 2 good potential fights right here, a Williams rematch, the winner could fight a rematch with Martinez and the looser says good bye, specially if that is Margarito, in the mean time Martinez could fight Cotto or even Andre Berto, a fight with Pacquiao, I believe it wont happen.
