According to the executive director of the World Boxing Council, Jose Sulaiman, Humberto “Zorrita” Soto of Los Mochis, MX, can only prove to the world this Saturday night that he is one of the best fighters in the world as he faces former world champion David Diaz for the vacant WBC lightwight title.

“Humberto is the most underrated fighter we have in Mexico,” Sulaiman stated about the man who is on the threshold of earning his third title in as many divisions. “He is a great fighter who gets very little publicty despite having all the tools, he boxes, he hits hard and he can take a punch.”

Sulaiman did hesitate to share how important this bout could be the for the current WBC super featherweight champion.

“This is a very important fight for Humberto,” Sulaiman said. “This is a great opportunity for him to show the world what he can do. I think it is plenty because David Diaz is a brave man, both are. The winner will be the absolute lightweight champion.”

Soto trained for this bout at the Sports World Gym in Tijuana, MX, under the watchful eye of Bobby Quirarte, son of the legendary Romulo Quirarte.
