Undefeated junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan (29-0, 18KOs) is highly focused for his upcoming fight versus Saul Roman (34-8, 29KOs) in which the WBC junior middleweight title will be at stake. The fight takes at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on the undercard of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr verus Sebastian Zbik undercard on Saturday, June 4th.
The Glendale, California, based fighter is halfway through his camp and is training harder than ever. His manager Steven Feder released the following statement, “Vanes Martirosyan is presently in Glendale with coach Edmond working hard. We added strength and conditioning coach Mike Vale who just recently worked with Amir Khan. Vanes’ stamina, speed and power will be noticeably different as we plan on bringing the fight to Roman.
We’re not looking past this fight but once we win at Staples, we will look for a great step up as we want to face an iconic opponent that will continue to put Vanes on the path to a world title. We are very much in sync with Bob and Top Rank’s plan to showcase his talents and make him a world champion. He’ll be back at the Wild Card with Freddie Roach today for hard sparring and fine tuning over the next four weeks. We’ll be ready. We hope all his fans will come to Staples and support him. He’s thrilled to be fighting in his backyard.”
