WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and #1 ranked Cristobal Arreola met the media and faced-off on Thursday for the first time in Los Angeles at a packed Staples Center press conference.
Look for some fireworks on September 26th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Undefeated big man Cristobal Arreola (27-0, 24 KO’s) will take on the WBC Heavyweight Champ Vitali Klitschko (37-2, 36 KO’s) for the title. Vitali has fought twice at Staples and beat Corrie Sanders for the same title and lost to Lennox Lewis in a great fight that was stopped due to cuts. Vitali reportedly took 60+ stitches in that contest. Â
Cris came out first and in a gesture fitting of the day, Vitali arrived and quickly walked over to Cris to give him a quick back rub. Neither fighter appears remotely close to trash talk or boastful promises much unlike Vitali’s supposed opponent for this fight, David Haye. Haye used several low class tactics to insult both Klitschko brothers and then apparently walked away from a chance to fight Vitali so he could fight Nicoli Valuev. Â
Cris talked about how he wants to make history in the fight by becoming the first Mexican Heavyweight champ. He said he “was honored” to be in this fight and he “respects the man”, meaning Vitali. Vitali said many times how happy he was to be in L.A. and how happy he was this fight was made.Â
He said, “I do not believe it will go 12 rounds,” and he talked about how he believes he has the better skills to win.  Cris promised to be in shape for the fight and people who know him believe that is the key. Some quick numbers:

Hey Tijuana I agree your right on the money on that one…
I was telling mexican friends that, he better be in tremendous shape or else. But I truly believe he can beat him, he has too stays focus and work with all his might.
As much as I don’t like the Klitchos styles of boxing that I find so robotic, I still have no choice but to respect them. These days at least the look like athletes, they come in shape.
Chris Arreola better go right too these big machines body, because both of the brothers don’t like pressure especially Vitali, the younger brother, his chin is not the greatest, Destroy their bodies and stay very low on these guys. You can’t stand tall with these guys have too bring them low too your level and work that body.
IF theirs a will theirs always a way but belief is important, if he’s not in-shape like we both agree and everyone else its curtains for him, I would hate too see that happen too such a talent.
Arreola really needs to get in shape, this is the chance of a life time.
Last time he was dropped early on the fight, but this time if that happens I think Vitali will finish him.
Overall I see a very hard fight for Arreola, I really hope he comes in in very good shape, do your runs and weight training and come prepare for a battle.
This could be historical , it’s up to him now.
