Adrien Broner returns this weekend on November 26th. He faces off with Argentinean Vicente Rodriguez. Although Rodriguez boasts a record of 34-2-1, none of those wins come from defeating any notable opponent and Rodriguez has never fought North of the equator. Debuting in the United States on HBO against one of today’s most exciting fighters, Rodriguez doesn’t seem to stand much of a chance.
After checking out the few tapes I could find on Rodriguez, he does not have the speed or power that Broner brings. Adrien Broner, who is best known for his first round knockout of Jason Litzau, will try and showcase his talent again on HBO. Rodriguez looks to be a tough man but who knows how he will react against Broner.
On that undercard, Heriberto Ruiz fights top prospect Gary Russell Jr. Ruiz, a veteran with over 50 fights with many against notable opponents is best known for his height and craftiness. Ruiz normally fights at 122 but has fought at 127 before. Russell Jr. who is known as one of the up and coming stars of the sport will have another chance to showcase his talent.
Saturday gives two young prospects the chance to breakout and elevates themselves to the next level of stardom. Both of them have the ability, and let’s hope they both showcase that ability on Saturday.
