I am glad the holidays are over. It seems like there hasn’t been any boxing or boxing news anywhere. I think the blood sport needs some new blood. I was looking forward to seeing Kelly Pavlik vs. Marco Antonio Rubio and Miguel Cotto vs. Michael Jennings, but after analyzing who their opponents are, I am not as excited anymore. I guess I was spoiled with all the previous fights and I am not referring to the Oscar vs. Manny travesty.

I guess since Kelly Pavlik and Miguel Cotto got their heads handed to them last time we saw them, they each can use an easy fight.

It was a ballsy move by Shane Mosley to accept the fight against Antonio Margarito after seing how he demolished the unbeaten Puerto Rican, for that I respect Mosley, but I still think Margarito will win and I agree with Lee Groves from maxboxing “it will take Margarito a few rounds to get accustomed to Mosley’s speed and style, plus it takes a bit longer for his engine to rev up maybe after the second half Margarito will shift into overdrive. Mosley has never been stopped but if anyone is equipped to become the first it is Margarito.”
In June-July we should see the rematch materialize, Cotto will have his “tune up fight” also, so everything looks good for summer time.
after margarito wins.. why not a rematch between cotto and him !?!
