Manny Pacquiao smiles during the final press conference for his upcoming fight against undefeated Jr. Timothy “The Desert Storm” Bradley Jr. Top Rank announced that the June 9 Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley world welterweight championship event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will be available live on both pay-per-view television and online. The four-bout pay-per-view card, produced and distributed live online by Top Rank for $54.95.
$54.95 is a lot of money. According to Keith Kizer, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Pacquiao’s purse will be $6 million, although he is guaranteed $26 million by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, the remaining $20 million will be paid over an undisclosed number or days or weeks (that he and Arum agreed upon) as the revenue from the fight comes in.
Bradley’s purse will be a career-high $5 million plus a small percent of PPV buys. Bradley said during the final presser:
“I’m ready to shock the world. I’m ready to do whatever it takes in there to win the fight. Let’s get it on baby, it’s going to be war.”
Pacquiao is a fast-handed, sharp puncher who will swarm an opponent if he senses he can wade in without fret.
“He’s a hungry fighter, he’s young and I know what he’s feeling. I feel like I’m 22 years old. My team wants to stop me from training but I keep pushing because I know Bradley is inspired to train hard to beat me.”
