The rankings are slowly separating the champions from the contenders. With one more fight left in this quarter (Mayweather-Ortiz), we are close to determining the champion to this contest. Here are the rankings:

Yes, I am in last place. Esteban and Felipe remain undefeated going into our last week and are both within 1 point of each other. If Felipe can predict a knockout to a single round more accurately than Esteban, he will win the contest. There are several scenarios and over half of the team can still win with the right prediction this Saturday.
In recap of last week’s fights, Gamboa was utterly dominant. He is fast and sharp. Although the fight ended due to an accidental clash of heads, Gamboa did enough throughout the fight to show that although he is still young, his skills and composure can beat out a powerful veteran. With plans to move up, I think we are all excited to see what this Cuban star can accomplish.
Overseas, we saw a top shape Tomasz Adamek being manhandled by an equally athletic but much larger boxer in Vitali Klistchko. Adamek gave all the credit in the world to Vitali who also was stunned (as we all were) by Adamek’s resilience and chin. Adamek, who has been champion and dominant at 175 and 200 pounds, was just too small for the 6’7” Klistchko. Although Adamek could drop down to Cruiserweight, where he could challenge Antonio Tarver, a rematch with Steve Cunningham fight other top contenders. Fights at heavyweight with other contenders such as David Haye or another rematch with Cris Arreola are also considerations. A comeback fight is definitely suggested with we will find out his future plans within the next few weeks as he deserves a long needed vacation.
In retrospect, my two losses have come from hunches encouraged by my hope for some of my favorite boxers to win, although all roads pointed to a loss. I believed in the underdog (my favorite boxers at the time) and have fallen to last place. It has been a great contest and I cannot wait until next quarter which will feature some great fights.

Wish this fight didnt get stopped, I wanted to see how Gamboa would do in the later rounds. Ponce De leon is a tuff guy, I wanted see if Gamboa could finish him. I’d like to see Gamboa against the over rated Alexander or Bradly, but Gamboa has some weight to gain if he wants to fight bigger names and fighters.
