Mexican boxer Erik “Terrible” Morales began filming his part as the late great Vicente Saldivar in a film directed by Neil Jordan in England.
The feature film tells the story of legendary British boxer Howard Winstone who after losing to Saldivar three times, finally achieved a world title in the featherweight division.
Morales traveled to the United Kingdom to partake in his first role as an actor. Also featured in the movie is former world champion Junior Witter and Australian actor John Noble.
Morales mentioned that the film will make its debut on July 29th in Cardiff, Wales, in a WBC sponsored event.
As a child Howard Winstone lost three of the fingers of his right hand stopping him from making a fist. Despite his handicap, Winstone was able to become a world champion.
Recently, it was made public that Morales had wrapped his part in the film but still finds himself in Europe, Paris to be exact, waiting to leave the continent after all flights have been suspended because of the Volcano eruption in Iceland.
History has told us that you can’t be a part time fighter and be successful. Just ask De La Hoya, Barrera and Lewis.
