While the extraordinary 2008 boxing year comes to an end, Golden Boy Promotions is happy to congratulate three of its biggest name fighters for the awards they received from world renowned Sports Illustrated magazine.
SportsIllustrated.com awarded the future Hall of Famer Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins with its “Upset of the Year” award for his impressive win over Kelly Pavlik on October 18th. Juan Manual Marquez was awarded with “KO of the Year” for his stoppage of Joel Casamayor on September 13th and Victor who holds a record of 3-0 all by knockout in the year 2008 was named “Prospect of the Year”.
