WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez of Argentina will take on Paul Williams on November 20th in a rematch. The two fighters engaged in an exciting back and forth action bout last year which ended in a controversial loss for Martinez.
Rumor was that Dan Goossen, Williams’ promoter, wasn’t interested in a rematch because Williams was planning returning to welterweight, but after no one wanted to fight Williams Goossen finally gave in. In April Martinez won a unanimous decision against Kelly Pavlik, Pavlik declined his option for an immediate rematch after Martinez beat him to claim the middleweight title, but Martinez was then stripped of his WBO title, due to one of the organization’s rules. Alfredo Angulo also turned down $750,000 to fight Martinez. While some fighters duck and dodge certain fights, Martinez doesn’t.
Though a venue hasn’t been determined Martinez is expected to begin training in mid September. Rumor is the fight will be on HBO B.A.D.
Ahh I just Bought My Ringside Tickets today!!!! Can I Get a Thumbs Up My Brothas?!?!? Im BEYOND Excited to see this fight…I Think Martinez Will Take This One by UD…It Wont Be Easy Though..I think Paul Williams Feels He Has SOmething To Prove so he will give it his best…
Martinez really is getting better every fight! I’ll go for Martinez this time! 🙂
martinez will win easily. williams last couple of fights have been horrible. martinez is just getting better. lets go martinezzzzz
I like Martinez by close decision in a back and forth battle.
I’m rooting for Martinez but i think Paul Williams won their first fight though, Martinez just looked exhausted past the 8th or 9th round and Williams was getting the best out of their sxchanges in the later rounds. Anyways, it’ll be a hell of a fight.
I cant wait either. Martinez all the way…

I’ll look forward to that. Their last fight was a good one, I was impressed with Martinez. I believe he won the first one and I think Jesus is right, Martinez dosent want to leave the next one in the hands of the judges.I agree with too Jonny-boy, This should be a hell of a fight.
Very nice Martinez by KO
It’s difficult to augur what is going to happen ,but all I know it’s a great fight
Martinez will not leave it up to the judges this time…
PRETTY COOL, I say Martinez takes this one but it’s gonna be a hell of a fight. I like both these guys and the last fight was pretty damn good.
